Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

A DEVELOPER – registered in the British Virgin Islands – seeks to build three luxury houses on a large plot of land that is the former Highgate Garden Centre.

Adjacent to which is the Harington Scheme that helps youngsters with learning difficulties or disabilities.

The public Hearing into the Garden Centre application starts from 10.00 on Tuesday 30th September (today, Tuesday) in Committee Room 6, Haringey Civic Centre, High Road, Wood Green.

Residents can attend to show their interest, even if they do not intend to speak before the Planning Inspector.

There is more information on the website of the Highgate Society.

The Friends of the Highgate Bowl have noted some alternative uses (PDF here) explaining what they and others would like to see happen to this large open area that includes other land behind Highgate High Street.

Clive Carter
Highgate Councillor

DETAILS of the Application on LBH's site are here.

Under delegated powers, the original application was declined by Haringey Planning – the Planning Inspector hears the developer's Appeal today.
