Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Hi All,

I find interesting this Guardian article reporting a new system of food retail starting up in the UK, especially after the debate this community has had about the destiny of Harringay Market:

http://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2014/jul/10/new-way-buy-loc...

Could this be the solution or our Green Lanes grocery shops (bless them, I am very grateful for their presence on my door step) are too competitive for any alternative food retail system?

Any thoughts?

Hey,

The guys at Food Assembly are good contact of mine. Food Assembly (or La Ruche Qui Dit Oui) is a massive success in France and I believe they can do well in England too. They have big ambition.

If you are interested to start a "Ruche" (Hive), I can put you in touch.

It could be a good alternative to the Harringay Market, btw such a shame it is gone.

HI Loic, I sent you a request of connection. I am interested to hear more from you if that is OK. I work in food production and distribution and I have a personal interest in these matters, being a nutritional therapists.

Hello,

Just accepted your request. Happy to chat about it. And I'll be interested to hear about the therapy you can propose

regards

This sounds like a fantastic idea Newyork. It makes real sense. It appeals to both foodie and sensibly frugal housewife instincts at large in the hood...and yes I agree about the positioning vs local traders, but I guess the produce the yell and what the Assembly would most likely sell might well  be different.

I think it would need running on a co-operative basis.
