Dear everyone,
After two amazing years, I've decided that the time has come to close Harringay Market.
As most of you know Sunday 20 July is our last day at South Harringay School, and it's been quite tough to find a new suitable venue, where we could hold the market every Sunday.
The Kurdish Centre were keen, however they were unsure whether they could commit to every Sunday.
It was impossible to find another venue on such a short notice.
I've had people from Stroud Green, Crouch End, Muswell Hill etc. emailing me about possible venues, however it meant losing the current clientele and rebranding, because Harringay Market isn't Harringay Market in Stroud Green.
I feel that the time has come to move on. And it's fine.
Massive thank you to everyone for your support in the past two years. I've made some great friends and met some very lovely people!
A very special thank you to Peet, Matt and Helen (who were there almost every single Sunday from the start), Liz, Phil K, John McM, Ebony and Paul, Burgoyne Bec and Malcolm, Charlotte F, Hugh, Antonia K ( who has been amazing and helped me out with the market in her spare time these past two years!) Ant, Jasmine and Roger, David Schmitz and Nick G-T for all your help, advice, words of encouragement and friendship.
Hope to see old and new faces at our last two markets (13 & 20 July).
And you can still visit Tottenham Green Market (every Saturday until 2 August at least).
Up next: the Harringay Block Party on Saturday 27 September. Our very own independent festival with lots of good street food, live music, an art exhibition and good vibes.

Well, looking at the map there, I'm still in Haringay (Woodstock Rd).
It's a bit like the difference between the river Lea or Lee. Which one is right?

It's not at all like that though..... Haringey is the whole borough - from Tottenham to Highgate.

Yes, Harringay = neighbourhood (from 1880); Haringey = borough (from 1965), Haringay = misspelling.

The tented off area was where they put their products during a refurb - I think they might need that space!

Very sorry to hear this, although you were too far away for me to get to easily (I'm in Alexandra Park). Our local market, Noel Park, has also closed. It's a real shame as the recent Myddleton Road, occasional market demonstrated the huge demand for local and artisan produce. It was packed for the full 8 hours it was open and everyone was spending like mad. Alexandra Palace market also sees a very brisk trade week in week out. It has to be about access. I have walked in the rain for 25 minutes to Noel Park Market, which is well off the beaten track, to find only 3 stalls open. I really hope the council can find disused sites that people can get to, so we can keep our lovely markets. I work in Retail & Shopper consultancy and "barriers to purchase" are very real. However, as other markets are thriving, profitable, and building communities, I do think the council should support. Otherwise we've no choice but Morrisons or Sainsbury.

Really gutted to see the market close. We've eaten many delicious lunches at the market and bought wonderful fresh produce and naughty cakey treats over the last couple of years. A great shame. We're hoping to move to Turnpike Lane soon so we will no doubt check out the Tottenham market.

That is really sad, how about myddleton road, next to bowes park station? It is in Harringay. I sew ocassionally having small scale weekend market there. But there are pretty of space there, and I am sure you can have your market there as well.
