Harringay online

Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

I saw a cat in the middle of Victoria Road today at around 12.30pm. It was very friendly but also very skinny. There was no collar or anything and apart from being skinny she/he looked okay, but as I was stroking it a lady came over and said the she knows the cat and some of her neighbours in Lorne Road often feed it but no one knows who's cat it is. It's a tortoiseshell cat with quite distinctive markings, half it's face was almost black and the other half was light brown. Unfortunately I wasn't able to get a picture of it, but I just wanted to mention it in case someone is missing a cat in that area.

Not mine, but just a long shot, maybe it's this one.

Otherwise, if someone can put a photo on here, maybe someone will recognise it. It's a good idea if someone can take it to a vet to see if it's microchipped. If not, and if no owner is found locally on here or by flyers, it will need a good home.

I have seen this little cat too a few times and I think she may be the same one as one the animal search website. I will keep a look out for her and see if I can catch her and take her in. If anyone manages to get hold of her then I can look after her temporarily (hopefully my ginger boy won't mind!!). I will send a message to the owner of the lost cat. Thanks for this.

That's good of you. If it turns out to be the same cat as the photo on animal search - please encourage the owner to get her microchipped and also get her neutered - otherwise the cat will get pregnant very quickly!

If it's a different cat, then hopefully it will be microchipped and a vet can scan it for owner's details. Please keep us posted. Thanks a lot.

The one on the website is missing from Stamford Hill not Stroud Green so it probably isn't that one, although it would be brilliant if it was!!

The half black half ginger face is a very common feature in torties. There's one I see frequently on Wightman Rd that looks like two halves of different cats joined together!

I'm not entirely sure. I couldn't stay long as I was working at the time (i'm a nanny and had the babies I look after with me). Unfortunately I am away this weekend, but I will try and head to the area again later this week and take a photo and see how it compares to the one you posted. As much as I would love to take the cat in if no owner is found, I am not allowed pets in my flat, so if I do find it again and someone is able to have he/she in their house, I am happy to help out with vet trips, flyers, finding a new owner etc.

I haven't seen the cat again, if anyone does see her/him and pick her up/find their owner then do let me know.

No-one has replied to my message to that Animal Search website so I guess they don't think she is their cat. I haven't seen her recently anyway, so not sure whether I will ever be able to help!
