This was on BBC TV news tonight - the sign flashed passed me and I thought- I recognise that sign, scrolled back and took a photo. The sign is on the front of a large house in Green Lanes near the mini Tescos and the Salisbury.
The guy was willing to arrange (for an undercover reporter) that FGM be performed on her fictious nieces- what they call female circumcision, what the UN defines as torture, what we call Female Genital Mutilation - they perform it on teenage girls, often without anaesthetic. Now apparently they are attempting to bypass British law by performing FGM on girls that are younger and younger and in some case babies.
It is absolutely against the law here and the government has mounted a campaign to stamp it out. This guy has been struck off by the BMA because of it.

jonny once again you are casting aspersions on innocent people. If you have evidence, tell the police, if not, why not stop spreading lies?

If he's not able to work as a doctor, that leaves him needing to earn a living. How will he pay the rent? Who will he be supervised by? IF he has done FGM, and therefore has no problems with it, he is more dangerous than the 'paedos' that are such obvious targets for mob attacks encouraged by the red-tops. He's not been charged in law, as he was only exposed by what he could claim was entrapment. I hope he is being brought in for questioning and encouraged to name more names.

If anyone on here is Muslim, they should have a word with their Imam and get him to denounce and forbid this practice.

The practice is not confined to Muslims, though it is most common in Muslim countries. It's also done by Christians and Animists. It's a cultural practice. Some big-cheese Ayatollas have denounced it, but that doesn't seem to have trickled down yet.

To be clear, I'm not implying that all Muslims support FGM. But, if the word gets out, it may do some good locally.

Let's ask the Christians to denounce the bigoted Free Presbyterian Church in Northern Ireland and all the African Christian churches which support the anti-gay backlash. And why not ask Catholics to complain about the Vaticans cover up of child rape?

Philip, I'm Northern Irish (catholic though, not presbyterian) and I have no issue with gay people and most other Northern Irish people that I know have no issue with gay people either. As far as I am concerned other people's sexual orientation is none of my business. You are right about the catholics complaining and a lot of us did and we said we wouldn't stand for the cover up either so get rid of the rot in our churches.
John is right, the more people who tell their religious leaders that they will not stand for it then the more they are likely to listen.
