With your support and confidence behind us on May 22nd you can help build a fairer Harringay, a fairer Borough and send a clear message that the residents of Harringay ward believe in social justice, community cohesion, the opportunity for all to thrive and equality.
Our key priorities for the borough:
Labour’s Record in Harringay
We have also
How the Liberal Democrat record damages Harringay locally
People in Harringay believe in fairness and social justice and the Liberal Democrats have abandoned that all together. They have supported Pickles, Duncan Smith and Osborne all the way.
The Liberal Democrats talk down Harringay but they have no positive vision for improving the ward or the borough and dealing with the big challenges. The Liberal Democrats in Harringay ward offer support for their party’s legacy of broken promises and Harringay Labour offer the opportunity for residents to help us build and support a fairer more inclusive community.
We want to see improvements to the local environment which means tougher action on landlords, betting shops, planning and licensing breaches. We also want to see improved safety for pedestrians and will continue to campaign for a crossing at Alroy Rd, traffic calming measures and improvements to pavements and roads.
Please use all three of your votes on May 22nd for Harringay Labour.

Although again what I see there in your link goes back to my original points about Lib Dems attempting to take personal credit for joint efforts. And that's the difference Alan isn't it ? We are a party who believe in collectivism and working together. We canvass as a team and you give me credit for loyalty to my colleagues - with the utmost respect that's part of the collective principle too. They are a very individualistic party more so in some respects than the Conservatives - they don't even expect their candidates to be party members - just slap a brand on your chest and away you go - you are now the Lib Dem candidate for XYZ Ward
Then we failed. But now let's have councillors - of whichever party - who work together to insist we "fail forward"; learning from what happened to make this crossing a lot safer.
Well if everyone’s keen to work together on this, will all councillors (current / prospective) commit to getting a crossing on Alroy Rd and Endymion Rd reviewed and amended (as necessary) again by the end of the year?
Nobody can or should make a promise they're not certain of keeping, David. Not ever. And certainly not just before an election.
(Tottenham Hale ward councillor - escaped.)
Ok Alan, will they commit to making it a key priority and working with councillors of whichever party to try and make this happen?
Or however they would like to word it.
The point is that residents want a solution to a very old problem that Labour doesn't seem bothered by (even when brought up on the doorstep).
Hi David
We have committed to that its in the original post. Every time I try to cross there I feel I am moments away from being struck by a car from different directions. You say the Lib Dems have supported and I am sure they have but perhaps they could have found some room for it in their posting yesterday. I always raise this issue about the petitions the Libs Dems carry out because I think there is something really cynical about using a genuine concern and in this case a dangerous situation to collect peoples personal details and target them for future election. I have constantly raised this and will continue to.
You make a valid point re their posting yesterday.
However, if everyone agrees it is dangerous, and both Labour and Lib Dem want something to happen, why has Labour done nothing about it? (you can do it with the help of Lib Dems so we can all celebrate this joyous collaborative approach)
Can you clarify if it is the Labour party position to remove the bollards in the Gardens & the blockages on Hermitage Road - or not? We know from media coverage that this is the reported position of one of the Labour candidates in St Annes (see this discussion), but the issue is absent from any leaflets I've seen so far & I haven't yet encountered any Labour activists going door to door.
If this is the Labour position they should be open about it with the electorate, so that they can draw their own conclusions.
Can you please explain how you will ensure every school and childcare setting will be rated good or outstanding if Labour is voted in and what your timescale is for that? And what is your view on Ofsted ratings in general?
I agree with others who have mentioned that some Councillors have a more visible presence than others. I see two councillors on a regular basis on my way to school/local shops etc (and have done for years). Only one of them actually talks to parents and residents regardless of their political persuasion or anything else for that matter.
If I am correct Items 2, 4 and 7 are being made possible and being driven by the Mayors for London's Office and/or Government initiatives/funding, not specifically the labour party - these will probably be delivered no matter who is elected.
It would be good to hear about priorities relating to areas that are specifically within the Councillors/Council's remit. How about improving services for Carers for instance. How do councillors intend to do this if at all.
