I can't help out but I'm sure there are some people who would love the opportunity to stop another bland block of flats getting built on an historic site. No?

Please help save the Antwerp Pub from development and buy shares! We only have 11 days left.

The Antwerp Arms has been serving beer and food to Tottenham Hotspur fans since the Club was stared in 1882. It is one of the closest pubs to the ground (less than half a mile or ten minutes walk). A beautiful and historic pub, it is the oldest pub still operating in Tottenham and is situated in Bruce Castle Park, itself a beautiful of 20 acre historic park dating back to the 16th century.

We would be devastated if all of this history were swept aside and replaced by a few flats!

We aim to run this pub as a community pub for the benefit of all, reaching out to all sectors of our community, strengthening community relations and generating much needed funds for future generations to use for local causes. Good beer, real ales, some of it brewed just one and a half miles away by Redemption Brewery (an award winning brewery) We aim to offer locally- sourced food such as that produced by a big fan of ours, The Tottenham Ploughman's, which is a group of Tottenham-based producers of food and drink - Redemption Brewery, Wildes Cheese, Flourish Bakers and now people producing pickles ! Could The Antwerp Arms pub be the missing link, well we'll just have to see.

The Antwerp Arms Association was formed to save our pub from a property developer who wants to convert it into flats. It is now protected by The Localism Act 2011 – Asset of Community Value (ACV) This has allowed us a six month period to come up with business plans and money from shares and other funding from grants to buy the pub and secure its future. That period ends in less than two weeks, on May 22nd.

Right now we have a big challenge. We still have a lot of money to raise through the community before we can access the grants which are available. Please help us reach our target. It’s now or never!

We need to raise £125,000 and we can access £50,000 to bring us up to our minimum target of £175,000. You can help us by pledging your funds at www.microgenius.org.uk. Please note that money will not be taken until we are ready to buy and have satisfied several legal conditions. In other words none of your money pledged can be drawn down if this is not successful.

I really believe we can do this now. I can announce that there is to be a big party at the pub next Sunday the 18th May. This will be our final, chance to raise funds before the closing date. We will be having a big community Ploughman's Lunch, with produce supplied by The Tottenham Ploughman's Group. Please come along to our Last Hurrah !
