The Fire Brigade have been in attendance this morning at the building of the former Flame restaurant (now the Steak House) controlling a fire. I understand that the fire was in one of the flats above the restaurant.
It is not currently known how the fire started, but apparently it is now under control.
Green Lanes northbound has been closed to northbound traffic.

The same people owned Flame, previously the Bingol, previously another name I can't remember, for years. It was a really good Turkish family-run restaurant and they were like friends. They seem to have gone, and as ever the new people won't say where they are. Anyone know? It doesn't look as interesting now but perhaps it's cheaper. Flame had got a bit expensive, particularly the wine, but it was still great for the occasional treat.
