Canon compatible printer ink (ie NOT genuine Canon ink) for sale
£60 the lot or will consider splitting
We bought a bumper load of printer ink, only to have our printer die on us not long afterwards – and of course it’s no good for our new printer!
We have:
14 x PGI-520-BK Black compatible Ink cartridges
9 x CLI-521-BK Black compatible Ink cartridges
9 x CLI-521-C Cyan compatible Ink cartridges
8 x CLI-521-M Magenta compatible Ink cartridges
10 x CLI-521-Y Yellow compatible Ink cartridges
Can’t find receipt in the email swamp but probably bought from cartridgesave.co.uk where a set of 5 inks (1 of each listed above) is £7.70. What we have is a mixture of 3 unbranded makes - photo attached below.
Works with (at least) the following printers
Canon Pixma
iP3600
iP4600
iP4700
MP540
MP550
MP560
MP620
MP630
MP640
MP980

Spit, doesn't fit either of my two Canons. They have this really annoying practice of slightly changing the size of the inks with each new model, so you end up with a cupboardful of expensive plastic waste.
You may be able to give away the printer as there are people out there who can fix them. Usually it's the print head that goes, they cost more than a new printer, but there are bodges that can be tried. Freecycle shifted my last dead one, or maybe on ebay for a penny.
Yup, you're right, it was the print head that went and it was close to the cost of a new printer. Thanks for tips on getting rid of printer (Canon Pixma MP630) - I'll get round to that as I gradually try to reclaim our spare room!
you can try flushing it out with lots of warm water then a bit of meths - google for videos. Worth a try - they do get gunged up before they wear out with their planned obsolescence.
I do a lot of printing for The Friends of The Parkland Walk, but given I'm inclined to upgrade my printer in the near future, a couple of sets at most would probably do me. If you do end up splitting them, I would be interested.
