Harringay online

Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

As above, I've just moved to the Ladder (Effingham) and looking for somewhere local to buy decent freshly roasted coffee beans. I'm sure there must be somewhere on Green Lanes, but haven't had much success so far. Any recommendations?

You can buy Weanie Beans from Adeline's training office in the 'Harringay Warehouse district'. I've also recommended Weanie Beans to Kevin at Moka and he told me last week that he's been in touch with Adeline with a view to stocking her products.

If you need something today, try Coffee Circus or My Kind of Coffee in Crouch End.

Martyn's on Muswell Hill Broadway. The best! Great range, roasted on the premises. Their Assam tea is also brilliant

Thanks for the tips! They all look good, so will have to try them all...

Sadly I fear I'm not going to be able to replicate (on price at least) the joys of Nut Case in Shepherd's Bush (near where I used to live) - great tasting freshly roasted beans for £10/kilo!

I recommend 'My Kind of Coffee' in Crouch End where I recently bought the 'Crouch End Blend'. They have freshly roasted beans of all descriptions and can grind the beans according to your coffee maker. Bit of a walk from Green Lanes but well worth it. See local review here: http://www.stroudgreen.org/discussion/3082/my-kind-of-coffee/p1

I'll second My Kind of Coffee. Great house blend.

For coffee shops where you can buy coffee I would second the vote for Coffee Circus in Crouch End - they use a bespoke blend from Climpsons and also sell beans form Climpsons and HasBean. I would also highly reccomend Vagabond Cafe in Stroud Green - They generally use HasBean beans but get guest coffees in. Both Cafes serve lovely coffee.

For Freshly roasted beans I suggest looking online - many retailers such as Has Bean, Extract or hands-on will post out very freshly roasted beans straight away. There are some roasters in other parts of London too - Square Mile, Monmouth, Workshop.

I hadn't noticed the bit about weanie Beans that Hugh put up - I'll have to try!

I've been getting my coffee eans from Weanie beans since Hugh's original post - great coffee and really good customer service

I believe Coffee Circus now only sells beans from their own roastery in Clapton.

Personally, I'm a Hasbean freak: their annual subscription sends me a 250g bag a week and makes me a very happy bunny.  Their beans are, whatever your order, sent out the day of roasting.

....and I can vouch for Geddas who owns the business together with his sister - a a truly decent guy with a real passion for coffee. He even travels to the estates he buys from (and incidentally gave me the best tip for our recent holiday to Brazil!).

Further to this discussion and Hugh's recommendation we hope to be stocking freshly ground coffee beans for sale very soon.
Xx

Yep, Martyn's of Muswell Hill roast beans on the premises and offer a great range. Well worth a trip.
