Hi
We live in a ground floor flat in The Ladder and unfortunately we have spotted a few signs of damp at floor level.
We have had a free survey and expensive quotation from Kenwood but we still don't know what is causing the problem.
Could anyone recommend an Independent Damp surveyor that specialises in the diagnosis and remediation of damp?
Many thanks!!!

Lots of old houses have a spot of damp. Mines got two tiny bits and i considered paying £3k to get it sorted but i spoke the neighbours and they said i shouldnt bother, all that happens is that you move the damp somewhere else and it doesnt get any worse anyway, so i left it. After two years its no different, doesnt smell and hasnt grown in size.
I wouldn't freak out too much about a little bit of damp, if you're buying a house thats over a 100 years its pretty par for the course.
I think the new river might be to blame.
Looks like you managed to find someone, but for anyone else checking this...We used someone called Keith Gardener of Independent Damp Specialists - 02089383802. Based in Putney but seems to travel all over London. As far as I remember he did a survey of the whole house last winter and provided a report for about £150-180. Needless to say the results were rather different from the Kenwood survey we'd had previously. Where they had recommended loads of expensive damproofing, Keith showed us we had a pipe/tap leaking etc. I hope yours is as reassuring!
