Music on the Ladder - Come and Sing Handel's Messiah - 23 November

Music on the Ladder's next event will be "Come and Sing Handel's Messiah" on Saturday, 23 November.  Since Handel only took 24 days to write this work, it seems vaguely fitting that we should rehearse and perform it all in one day!

The event, like all our events, will take place at St. Paul's Church on Wightman Road, which has just been named as one of the top 10 Best Modern Churches in the UK - so this is a great opportunity to come in and find out just why it was so highly regarded by the competition's judges.

For those of you who would like to sing with us in the chorus, the idea is that we all rock up at 1pm on the day and allow our fantastic conductor, David Went, to put us through our paces for a few hours (with plenty of time for tea and cake breaks in our Angel Cafe) as we rehearse Handel's Messiah, ready for a performance at 7pm.  Scores will be provided and there will be a chance to wind down with a glass of wine after the performance.  It's £10 (on the door) for singers to join in, and if you'd like to take part, please drop us a line to musicontheladder@gmail.com and let us know your voice part.

If you feel your best singing is done in the bath, then don't let that stop you coming along to be part of our audience for the performance at 7pm!  We have a fantastic line up of soloists, some of whom are local and some from further afield (South Korea and China!), and we'd love you to stay afterwards for a glass of wine and some nibbles.  If you'd like to come to listen, it's £5 on the door - no need to book, just turn up!
