Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Windows 8.1 updates available from yesterday for Windows 8.0 users

For all happy and slightly frustrated Windows 8 users

This is a certain relief for Windows 8 users which were struggling with their new computers and new operating system without Start button, much more complicated Start menu and few others. You can go to Windows Store icon and download free updates which decrease your disappointment with latest Microsoft product.

After about 2 hours depending on your download speed you will see much more improvement at your desktop, laptop or tablet.

Have fun...

Hi Marek I've been trying to update since it was released but get this message each time I've searched for the meaning of the error code but found nothing. Can you help?

Hi Yvonne

Try to uninstall your anti-virus and do it again

Thanks for the tip Marek. Unfortunately this has not worked and I have the same message. I use Windows Defender and stopped this running as i could not uninstall it.

is your operating system up to date?

Apart from the latest 8.1?

I have found that this message appears when non-Windows applications work

Could you try this tool and link?

ErrorEND_Installer.exe

I have been updating regularly in between trying.

I will give the tool a try.

Thanks again Marek

Let's see

Still not working Marek. I have run the tool 3 times and updated.

What a stubborn issue

For your temporary convenience you could use the solution which Pete shown earlier with Classic Shell to have a start button

http://www.classicshell.net/  and let's observe the future forum discussions

Thanks for your help Marek

Thanks Marek. Do I need to do any back ups before installing the updates? And will all my other software be unaffected?

Hi Gillian

Back up of data would be really good as we never know what can happen.

Whatever you run under Windows 8 should have no issue to run with Windows 8.1
