Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Hi all,

Just wondered if anyone knew of any blackthorn bushes in the area so I can forage some sloes for gin?

Thanks!

There's loads at Tottenham marshes. Go along the canal tow path on the east side going north from Stonebridge lock . Go past lockwood reservoir, there's a footbridge on the right that leads into a field that is absolutely chocka full of Sloes. Other various fruits & berries too, Roe hip, Hawthorn berries and apples, pears and a few late plums. In my humble opinion there's nowhere better in North London.

Gathered loads along the canal, walking up from Tottenham Hale. But that was a couple of months ago - not sure what the situation is now.

ellecarambu* That's not any help is it ?

James I noticed not too many up there a while ago, maybe you're the enthusiastic forager! But yes I get as many blackberries as I want in that field. There are even hazelnuts to be had around now....

Thanks all!
Does anyone know whether the sloes are ripe in Tottenham marshes, or have I missed them?!
