Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

I am looking for a nursery to send my child to when he turns one and would be interested to hear the views of parents who send their children to Little Jewels. What do they like about it? What downsides do they find?

In particular I'd be very interested to hear from parents of one year olds or those whose children started at that age recently. Given his current progress, or lack of it, I don't think my baby will be walking by the time he is due to start and I wonder how he will get on in a room full of older mobile children.

I'd also be keen to hear about other local nurseries that parents like.

Many Thanks

My son goes to little jewels. In their last Ofsted They were 3 point off an outstanding. There are few 1 year old's there and I think they get 1 to 1 support.

Thanks for replying, I assume you and your son like it?
My daughter has just finished at little jewels and went there from 1.5 til 3.5. We were very happy with it and think the staff are incredible there.

Yeah we both like it. It has great mix of children and the staff are great.

My son started at Little Jewels full time started the day he turned 1, he could just about walk but wasn't very steady on his feet. I thought he'd be getting knocked over the whole time, but he was absolutely fine. He was the youngest baby there when he started and was for a couple of months, but that just meant he got dedicated staff attention! He also sometimes needed 2 sleeps a day in the beginning and the staff were really accommodating to his individual needs until he was accustomed to the nursery routine.

He's about to turn 2 now and is still there full time, loves it and I am so happy with the nursery. There are obviously advantages and disadvantages to not splitting children into age groups but I love that he is with older children and so has quickly learned to eat at a table/come off a bottle etc and also never had the frustration of waiting to progress out of the 'baby room'.

Thanks so much for your post, very reassuring!
My little boy also started at 1 year old at Little Jewels and was one of 3 that started the same week. He too was barely on his feet but the older children are great with the little ones. You really don't have anything to worry about. My son absolutely flourished at Little Jewels and it was a real wrench when he had to leave. The staff are marvellous. We even go back for visits!
Thanks for your comment another very reassuring one.
