Garden waste
So, we had a bit of a garden clear-out last weekend and now have about eight bags of 'green waste' sitting on the patio. Problem is they are not in the correct type of refuse sack (you know what it's like, when the gardening urge occasionally hits you kinda have to go with it), so we can't just leave them to be collected by the council.
Any idea what i can do beyond decanting into the relevant bags? (which we don't have anyway). Does the council take away green waste in black bin bags if you schedule a one-off collection? Think the number is closed right now so can't ask...

Veolia will collect up to 5 bags of garden waste each week. Make sure you don't tie the bin bags or they won't collect them.

I don't think the type of bag matters. I have left garden waste in untied black bin bags and they took it (they empty the bags out and return them).

Our garden compost bin seems to eat an endless supply of green waste, egg boxes etc.

It would have had a very stressed waist line if it attempted to eat the laurel I heavily pruned back this morning Alan. The garden waste collection is a very handy service for those who choose not to have a compost bin.

Belt and braces. We use the green waste collection as well.

You could take them to the Reuse & Recycling Centre off Hornsey High Street - they have a green waste skip there. It's open 7 days a week - check council website for opening times.
