Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Can anyone offer me some advice please, have been insured with the above company for the last couple of years fully comp and my insurance is up for renewal, recently i was pulled for traffic offence basically i was driving my friends van which HAS fully comp policy of its own but because i had my own personal cover i did not know i would not be covered so you can guess 6pts and £200 fine!!!! When i called admiral and asked why i was not covered they said i had no exemption due to my day job ie. van driver ?????. obviously i made them aware of my situtation, my insurance was up for renewal the following week, i recieved my new cert and policy insurance comencing on Friday last but to make certain i called them after hours on the phone with them yesterday they then said we have made a mistake YOU ARE NOT INSURED,so what can i do? is it legal for them to do this over the phone? HELP!

Apologies but I've read this a coupe of times and am not really clear about what has happened to you. So the fine and points were for driving someone else's car thinking you were covered by your own fully comp insurance, is that right? And what do you mean about not having an exemption, what sort of exemption might you have?

It does seem very odd that you get a letter confirming you are covered and are then told verbally you are not. I would want to understand why and see that in writing. Good luck.

so sorry i ment extention certificate apparently this allows you to drive another car but the insurance company said i did not have this .
