Privatisation of NHS - what can I do?
Following on from HoL debate, If you want to do something about Section 75 of the Health & Social Care Act, which opens up virtually all alreas of the NHS to privatisation, follow this link. http://www.keepournhspublic.com/index.php and email a lord. It will show you who and how. The Lords have been granted a debate on April 24 (apparently this is rare) so there is time. There is also a local Haringey 38 degrees group campaigning around changes to the health service, including these proposals going through the House of Lords that will force all NHS services to be contracted out and tendered. The group will be joining the lobby at the House of Lords on Wednesday from 12pm unti 5pm.
At 10am the group will be leafleting outside St Anne's hospital and the Laurels Health Centre on St Anne's Rd - meeting at main entrance to the hospital.

I have stirred it up at the two public meetings on the Whittington land sale proposals, and went to their last 'consultation' at Lordship Lane Health Centre on Thursday 24 April. I have received their two most relevant strategy papers, and details about becoming a Governor, which I intend to do!
This alone cannot stop this creeping privatisation, but I would strongly advise anyone who uses a hospital to become at least a trust member.
Of our local MPs, Lynne Featherstone gives the Whittington land sell-off some support, but Messrs Corbyn and Lammy are definitely opposed to the sell off, requesting a re-think. We need a separate HOL section for NHS service discussions.
