From today's D Tel: "Google opened its Map Maker application to Britain today, allowing users to edit information about places that will appear in Google Maps.

Google is inviting British contributors to submit information on everything from restaurants and hospitals to water fountains and tennis courts.

Users’ first edits have to be reviewed by other users before they go online. Google will then allow contributors that have made several useful additions to make changes with no moderation beforehand.

The search engine will test the feature at Bletchley Park today, where British codebreakers cracked the Nazi Enigma cipher during the Second World War. [...]"

I've tried and failed to edit errors on Google Maps so this may be useful if I can work out what it all means. I bet Hugh will know.
