Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Has anyone on this site living in a house made their upstairs bathroom bigger by expanding into the hallway? I know all houses are subtly different, but would like to know how well it works as an idea.

We used to have a separate toilet right next to a small bathroom and joined them together into one bigger room which included rebuilding the wall by the hallway which moved it a little into the hall. It also changed the bathroom door to open into the hall instead of into the bathroom which gave more space inside though the builders thought that was an odd thing to do. Its still a small bathroom but seems much bigger than before.

We took some space from the back bedroom leaving it just big enough for a double bed and made the hallway slightly narrower. We have a separate shower and bath now. We left the loo as a separate room. We put in a sliding door to help maximise space which works well and isn't as strange as it sounds.
