Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

I've noticed today that I'm not able to send messages, preview posts or add emoticons to posts on either of my current browsers.

Can't remember this being a prob before.

Admittedly I'm on an older (Ha!) Mac OS 10.5.8 - but that shouldn't cause problems with anything non-flash-centric.

Tested on Safari & Firefox - both show the same problems.

Any clues?

I hadn't heard of this before, but let me whazz it off to our platform hosts and I'll let you know what they say.

Cheers Hugh.

If it's any help - when I click any of those buttons - I get the 'Loading' message across the bottom of my browser window - but it just stalls.

I can take a screen shot if you like - although all the HTML/Insert/Upload formatting options seem to have disappeared as well so I wouldn't be able to upload it this thread.

Did you try to download Google Chrome and do your task?

or Simply reinstall the current browsers?

Did you check the Software updates for your Mac?

Google Chrome on a Mac requires OS X 10.6 on an Intel machine. I'm running a PPC Machine with 10.5.8. 10.6 won't run on a PPC machine.

10.5.8 is quite old (Ha!) now - there hasn't been any major (or browser-related) updates for a long time and yes, my software is all up to date for my OS.

I'm on the web (and many other forums) for work all day and I don't have any probs at all - apart from using the latest Flash player which is now Intel-only.

Hmmm... please add...

1) Edits to my replies are not saved (has happened twice today - just tested it again - although I could edit when mine was the original post on the thread)
2) As you'll notice - the tiered/cascaded system isn't working when I replied directly to Marek's post.

Sorry!

Have you ever tried to sync your email account with Mail software on your Mac?

For what it's worth, I've been having similar problems in safari. seems to be ok in firefox though.

Marek...

Yes, I've done that a few times over the years but I've never used Mail as my main email client. Currently I use a plug-in for Filemaker Pro called Mailit. Works really well, customizable, love it.

Why do you ask?

Sometimes it helps in situation when the mail on the web gives no responses and the Outlook or Mail works very well

When I said, in my original post, "I'm not able to send messages..." - I meant I'm not able to send direct messages to my contacts here on HoL using the HoL Mailbox or the 'Send Message' link on my Contacts pages.

I posted this on HoL because the problems are only occurring here on HoL.

I see now so it is just an technical issue with this lovely website and nothing else.

Sounds better and it must be a job for an admin of this web.
