We went along too, got there about 9pm. It was a very busy and popular night, we really enjoyed ourselves despite our lateness and the busyness meaning that we had to sit on the floor and had no chance of getting our records played.
Can't add too much to the stories already told, well apart from the young lady who was so young (bless!) that she didnt know how to operate the turntable, or what speed her records should be played at, the guy who brought along and played 'if you leave me now, you'll take away the biggst part of me', which he hated but brought back childhood memories (the audience sang along and waved their hands in the air), and finally the enigmatic lady who virtually stormed the stage when 'come fly with me' was playing, thrust her own single into the MC's hand, lifted the stylus up from the playing record and promptly left the stage! Quite strange, although i iamgine that alcohol may have been involved.
Overall a great night, very friendly crowd, and for once we didn't feel like the 'oldies'! Will definitely go again (and earlier) if they repeat the night.
