Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Starting just down the road in Stamford Hill, enjoy a guided kayak/canoe trip on the Lea Navigation and help waterway charity Thames 21 improve it at the same time.

Thames 21 will also need a team to help them on dry land.  Those helpers will not need to kayak on this event.

Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult.

To canoe you must be able to swim. There are limited spaces for the kayaks and canoes, so pre-registering is essential.

This event is part of the Big Waterways Clean Up 2012 project.

More information on the Thames 21 website.

Hi, I was wondering if there are any Kayak clubs local to me ? I live in Hornsey and have been a member of Milton Keynes Kayak club for a few years and would love to get splashing again.... thanks

If you go down to the bottom of Spring Hill by Springfield Park (see map on the event page for the above), you'll see a rowing or canoe club just next to the cafe. I'm sure they'll be a great source of info.

Laburnum Boat Club: 020 7729 2915

Castle Canoe Club: 020 8442 8116

Leaside: 020 8806 6887

Regents: 020 7253 0778

Westminster Boating Base is really good. Not exactly local but its by Pimlico tube on the Victoria Line so quick and easy to get to from here. Kayaking on the Thames is much more fun than on the reservoirs around here, and on Sundays depending on the tide they do a paddle down through central London to Tower Bridge and back which is a beautiful trip.
