Cellar tanking / damp proofing advice needed

Hi there,

We are based on the ladder and have a cellar that we would like to use for storgage. It is currently very damp and we would need to do something to it before using it. Can anyone tell us how much it could cost to tank it and recommend someone reliable to do it?

Hi Rosie

I looked at having this done back in 2007, with a view though to a use for living rather than storage, was quoted about 40k and was told by one of the contracters that it would always be damp, so I didn't pursue it. I may have misremembered the quote, but just wanted to alert you to the fact that you may not be able to solve the dampness problem.
