Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Hi,

Does anyone know or can help with arranging a placement / voluntary position for a Psychology student ?

This can include : psychotherapy, Counselling  or any aspects of psychology.

As we are all aware it is very hard to get any kind of job without any experience and i thought this would be a great place to see if anyone can advise or assist.

Best regards

Onur

try the Markfield centre

They need to send their CV's to all psychology departments within the area they can travel in and a decent covering letter. The BPS used to have lists of departments within certain areas, I'm not sure if they still do.

They will have to send out a lot of letters.....

Islington Churches Bereavement Service I think now based in Tollington Park takes on volunteers as bereavement counsellors (dealing with issues surrounding complex bereavement.) They provide a 10/12 week once a week training course based on person centred counselling theories( Roger's) The training and the counselling is not at all religious and ofetn the volunteers are doing placements as part of their counselling diploma etc. There is good supervision and it is a containing organisation to obtain experince with and Bacp approved.

Also PLACE TO BE I heard is a lovely organisation working with young kids in schools as a counsellor. They provide training.
