At last, a post begging only advice, and not materiel.
We've had the awful rotten wooden seventies windows ripped out and replaced with double glazing - hooray.
Now that the heavy work is finished, we can turn our attention to renovating the actual bay itself. I've seen some bays that are beautifully smooth and level (presumably gently raked forwards for drainage) and wondered if anybody might know what filling compound is best to produce that sort of finish?
or, indeed, if anyone has any other advice relating to them?
thanks
Dave

Someone did this on ours a while back as a freebee with some other work. Brushed them down, spread some sort of filler over the rough bits and gave them a paint. Looked great for a little while but after not many months the filler started peeling and bubbling up every where and its looked much much worse than before ever since.
So watch out for bodge jobs. Maybe some sort of proper cement render is whats needed?
