Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Hello

I'm looking for a small desk to replace a rather large one taking up too much space in my cosy rented room. I'm afraid my budget's pretty tight at around £15 but might be able to negotiate depending on quality. Also looking on the off chance that someone might be wanting to get rid of said item(s) :P

I'm after something that's not more than 90cm long X 60cm wide, preferably slightly smaller and NOT a desktop computer type desk with pull out keyboard mount.

I'm also after a slim bookshelf not more than 46cms wide, price negotiable.

I'm on Salisbury Road N4 so hoping to find something local for ease of transport.

Thanks very much!

Hi Arim
Why don't you try ilovefreegle.org which is a free recycling/reuse organisation and is an online forum where members can request or offer just about anything so long as it's free and legal. There are over 348 groups around London and the rest of the UK so you should be able to find a group close to you. You'll need a Yahoo ID since they pay for our websites since we are not for profit.

Freegle means 'Free Giving Locally Easily' and has only one goal 'To Stop Good Stuff Going to Landfill' and in doing that support our local communities. If you go to the ilovefreegle.org website and click on 'Find a Group' type in either your area or postcode and it will bring up a list of groups in your area. Choose the group you'd like to join such as Enfield or Hackney for example click on the link and it will take you to the group you've chosen, click on 'Join this Group' register and wait till you receive a confirmation email, click on the link and it will take you back to the group page, click on 'Messages' and see what's being offered or requested. Click on 'Post' and make your request and wait for someone to respond and/or respond to an offer by clicking on it scroll to the bottom of the page and hit 'Reply' your email will go direct to the member offering items and wait for them to respond, if they're happy to let you have their item/s you can arrange a mutually convenient day/time to pick it up. I hope this helps?

Regards

Liz

Thanks Liz, I just found a desk today through gumtree but still looking for a bookshelf so I'll have a look at your suggestion.

Hi Arim,

Have you colleted your desk.  I have a lovely, small desk which might be perfect for you.

I have, actually. But might still be interested for my flatmate who has the computer desk I was so unkeen on! or swap if nicer.

Would you have a photo of it and how much are you asking for it? Thanks
