Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Harringay restaurant and food shops lavishly praised in Standard tonight

The 'fantastic Turkish restaurant Gokyuzu in Green Lanes' is ' surely the best value in all London,' according to tonight's Standard http://www.thisislondon.co.uk/goingout/restaurants/shrimpys--review... (scroll down to end of restaurant view)

Reviewer David Sexton also says, 'The Green Lanes greengrocers are extraordinary too. They’ve got not just cherries now but the first apricots.'

It seems  as though he may be our new neighbour, from what he says.

Does look like it doesn't it? Do wish they wouldn't broadcast this stuff to the nation though. We don't want any old riff raff moving here ;)

Thanks for pointing this out, Josephine. I've left a comment with a link to our recent discussion on which is the best Turkish restaurant in Harringay.

Good idea, Hugh. I also thought if the journalist google alerts himself then he might see this and join HoL.

We are pretty lucky foodwise on GL; the fruit and veg, Yasar Halim, Baldwin's and all the amazing Turkish places.

On the same page as the Gokyuzu article (in the paper itself, not sure if online) Pizza Pilgrims also got a write up, not Harringay (they're on Berwick Street in Soho) but can thoroughly reccomend, best pizza I've ever eaten.
