Featherstone gay rights campaign honoured with Ben & Jerry's ice cream

Hornsey & Wood Green MP Lynne Featherstone has been honoured for her work championing gay marriage by ice cream maker Ben & Jerry.

Mrs Featherstone, who was the first Government minister to take part in the Out4Marriage campaign was sent a ‘Lynne Honeycomb’ special edition tub. Her staff say it didn’t actually contain any actual ice cream.

Although gay rights campaigners have been disappointed disappointed to see no mention of plans to bring in legislation during the Queen's Speech, Featherstone has insisted that there will be "no u-turn on equal marriage" and that the government is committed to legislate by 2015.
