Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Not sure if this was just a fluke this morning on Chesterfield Gardens, or whether this is a new Veolia time saving policy but ....

When the bins were emptied on our street this morning everyone's wheelie bins were left standing out on the road instead of being returned to people's front gardens as they usually are.  As it happens I left for work later than usual and was able to return my bin to the garden, but usually the bins are empitied after I've gone to work, and the bin would have been left sitting in the road until the evening. I guess this would be the case with a lot of households.

I can see that leaving the bins in the road saves Veolia time, but given that it blocks of all the parking spaces on both sides of the road for one day a week it doesn't seem like the best idea.  Plus does it mean Veolia are being paid the same to provide a slightly more rubbish (no pun intended) service?

Management may have changed, but at the time the collection teams remained the same. And yes, it was a few years ago but my point was that if they choose to deny it most of the time you can't prove it.

Veolia, as mentioned by Betty, do seem to be trying harder to shake off the lapse legacy that they inherited and do tend to listen to your concerns nowadays.

I contacted Veolia via the form on their website, and to be fair they called me back about 15 mnutes later and said they'd rais the issue with the team.  So fingers crossed its sorted and won't happen again!

Many a time have I been left my neighbours bin and they mine even though my bin has my address on the side and please return where found and the same applies to the green box where many a time has the lid and box have disappeared I just put it down to the people who do the recycling round on my road that are unable to read.
