Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Don't want to stir out - who's got an Indian takeaway to recommend?

We're too lazy to stir out into the chilly rain and fancy getting dinner delivered. Who's got a local Indian takeaway they'd recommend? I've seen the listings elsewhere on here, but they're light on reviews. Come on, help us get fat as well as lazy!

Tiffins Club in Stokie is wonderful and well worth a try 0207 254 8459 - Indian and Bangladeshi food. The food is great quality, generous portions and delivered hot and on time by friendly staff.  We have been let down too many times with Tiffin Tin, very slow to deliver, the food often cold and the quality does not reflect the price.

Guess it's a matter of taste but it's weird how to me (and most people I know locally) Tiffin tin is in another league altogether - I know a fair few people who've moved out and still bemoan how much they miss it!

I have tried Tiffins club as well and while it was prompt and a little cheaper, didn't think it even compared. It's decent Indian take-away fare and I've had a lot worse, but TT just seems to be fresher and tastier than the others. It is a shame about their service, but 9 times out of 10 it's good as long as you know what to expect (a possible long wait)

I think Neyas on Tottenham Lane are very good.

It's got to be The Belash in Crouch End - I've been eating their takeaways on and off for about 20 years! It is one of the highlights about moving back to the area.

I find this thread somewhat amazing.

Put your hands up - i.e., reply - if you have tried Paradise on Turnpike Lane.

I get the strong impression that will be very few of you.

Somewhat amazing, as I say.

I don't know where Le Chamarel is. Paradise is opposite the Tollgate though.

PS you are right, this is about deliveries. Although the thread title does say takeaway though ;)

(Hands up!)

I was raised on the takeaways and canteens of Tooting and Paradise is just what the doctor ordered.  In fact I need to try some of these places you lot have mentioned here because walking to Paradise is not worth considering in very bad weather.

It doesn't look up to much, and is on the edge of the area, but I have always found the Elahee (at the Middle Lane roundabout, near Hornsey High St) to be good quality and value. Genuine family business, and well worth a try. Tel number is  020 8348 0741

We love Suruchi in Newington Green -  82 Mildmay Park, London N1 4PR .  The food is excellent and it arrived at our N4 address nice and hot.  They usually throw in a complimentary Cobra (beer not snake) with your order as well.

The Tiffin Tin is brilliant. We are so pleased we moved near it! Authentic, wonderful food. No rubbish here. Always on time and no errors. A professional establishment.

The Beelash in Crouch End.

I have been going there for over 20 years. The staff are very friendly. The food is very good ( I lived in Nepal and like indian food). The price is right. Go there and see for you first - check out what you like and then have the food delivered another time. Poppadoms are crispy and light (not greasy) and the Nan (ask if you like it well done) is excellent.

Neyas is THE BEST, give them a go. Friendly, always on time and very tasty. My favourite dish is lamb shacute.
