Hi all,
moving into a place that has the barest minimum of mod cons (it is temporary - only for 2-3 months). Wondered if anyone has a small fridge (table-top?) or microwave going cheap (or even borrow if you want to keep but aren't using right now)?
many thanks
Karl

Hi Michelle, thanks for the offer but I've managed to pick up a TV already (one less thing on the list!) cheers Karl
I can't believe you can't give it away. Please do not throw it, donate it to the charity shop on Green Lanes. They take electrical goods and will collect. 020 3609 1454
Hi Karl.
I have a v-small fridge and microwave. PM me
Its worth checking Haringey Freecycle or at least putting a WANTED posting on there.
Didn't even know there was such a thing. Bit complicated signing up process but posted there now- thanks for the tip!
Hi Karl
You might want to check out ilovefreegle.org a nation wide not for profit recycling/reuse organisation with only one goal 'To Stop Good Stuff Going to Landfill' and in doing so support our communities. Freegle means 'Free Giving Locally Easily' has over 330 groups across the UK with more than 1.289 million members giving and getting stuff completely free of charge. It's free to register and free to use, there is no money involved in being part of the ilovefreegle.org communities.
You can ask for (Post a Wanted ad) or respond to an offer of just about anything so long as it's free and legal! Freegle has won many local and national awards for it's efforts in recycling and community support, including helping those who lost their homes in the Tottenham riots. You can completely furnish your new home with everything from beds to towels, you must be able to collect items from other members at a mutually convenient time.
Alternatively if your white or electrical goods break down you can again either post a 'Wanted' ad or respond to an offer of another machine and when it breaks down you can put it back up and get another. You never 'Have' to buy white or electrical goods again if you wish, this will also save you the cost of disposing of your broken machines you never know someone may be able to breathe new life into it or use if for spare parts, either way it's not going to landfill.
Freegle also actively encourages Schools, Clubs, Groups, Other not for profit organisations, hostels, safe houses and many more who can post for resources free of charge once their ID has been confirmed. So please tell your friends and family about this brilliant organisation which is run entirely by dedicated unpaid volunteers. You can join as many groups as you wish all they ask is that you only post 'Offers' on one group at a time to save confusion. If you don't have access to a computer at home why go to your local library and join up online there, most library's have a free half hour, you can even ask for a computer if you would like one.
Regards
Liz
