Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Officers from Waltham Forest were able to reunite a woman with her handbag and telephone after she activated her Where's My Phone? app.

The victim had reported her handbag stolen from a bar in W1 on Saturday 27 October.

On activating the application, she was able to direct officers from Waltham Forest to an address on the borough and her bag was recovered on 28 October.

The victim of the stolen handbag said “ I’d like to thank all the officers involved at the call centre for their willingness to help, plus PC Shine and the team at Waltham Forest Police for going the extra mile and taking the time to investigate based on the findings of an iPhone locator app. It's an amazing outcome and I am incredibly grateful for everyone's willingness to take seriously something that could have so easily just been written off as a small theft.

The difference to me is massive as I now don't have to replace my phone, house keys or particularly car keys, which would have proved very expensive. Your officers have absolutely made my day and I will be telling everyone my good news story about the Met, as their efforts deserve to be celebrated"

PC Anthony Shine from Waltham Forest Police said "This is an excellent example of how the police will use every means possible in an attempt to trace and reunite victims with their lost property quickly. Also the quick thinking of the victim enabled us to work with her to find her stolen items
