Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Local charity food event - can you help with tables, chairs, cutlery etc?

Hi All,

I'm running a charity event to support http://www.channelangus.co.uk/ - a good friend of mine who swam the channel this summer to raise money for a water charity in Africa.

We are turning our flat in Colina Mews into a restaurant for the day, feeding friends in return for sizeable donations to the charity.

Normally I feed just the two of us, but suddenly I need to find cutlery, plates, tables and chairs for 26 covers!

Does anyone have access to such equipment that they could lend us over the weekend of 15th/16th October?

I can collect and return everything promptly (and cleanly!) and any help will be very greatfully received - it's for a great cause.

Many thanks in advance.

I often see full crockery sets in charity shops in their original boxes for v cheap. Could be worth looking in a few and if you don't need them after, return them in good condition and that way they get money for the same items twice. Just an idea!

Hi there I have 4 plastic garden chairs you can have. They are in good nick  and you can keep them. Let me know ASAP otherwise they will get dumped I may also have cutlery and crockery please PM with your number

cheers

Thanks guys  - good advice on FreeCycle and charity shops - will check.

Thanks Tunbridge Wells - will DM you now.

Might be able to lend you some fold down tables. You'd prob need 4. You and 3 others could walk them to yours from mine. PM me if you like.

I could lend you 10 dinner plates and 4 sets of cutlery.  Also some serving bowls.

As you'll have to scoot round a lot of people to get enough plates and cutlery,  I wonder if one of the local primary schools would lend you sufficient for the weekend as it's for charity ?

You could check online here which if any of the local schools use china rather than plastic plates !

MzMoore, Matt, h4k - thanks so much for the offer of help - really appreciate it!

I'm now juggling a couple of offers and so as not to waste anyone's time need to do a bit of a count up to see what we need.

With that in mind, I'll get back to you soon if we would like to take up your offer and work out collection tims etc.

Again - thanks so much for the offers!

James
