Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Having picked up a tweet about the quiz at the Salisbury being cancelled, I phoned Dave, the pub's manager to verify. He confirmed this and more.

Apparently all local pubs have been advised to close by the police. He said that the Tollgate up on Turnpike Lane had closed earlier in the afternoon after youths had been seen gathering outside. The Old Ale has stopped serving, The Finsbury is closed, The Garden Ladder is closing as is The Salisbury.

Dave said there are reports of youths gathering up by Manor House Tube and in Chestnuts Park.

It's been VERY quiet at our end of the Ladder this evening, almost eerily so.  Hardly any traffic or people in the street (Frobisher).
Ditto in the middle. I think much of London is holding its breath.

Not really a surprise Hugh, the Salisbury was closed Sunday evening as well (or at least closed early).

The OAE was actually open but that shut sharpish when the LL got word that the Arena was under attack (~11:30 pm).

I imagine Dave didn't want a repeat of the "wedding party" incident of a couple of years back (if you remember you'll know what I mean...!)

Aim was not to surprise, rather to inform.

I know matey, and you're doing a sterling job. keep it up my friend
