Is Muswell Hill local? If so this place has a lot of supplies - I had a few picture mounts from there too.

Hi Sally

Here at Nest we sell a range of haberdashery including ribbons, felt, beads and buttons which you might find useful for your decorations.

We're located at 102 Weston Park in Crouch End - take a look at our website for more details www.handmadenest.co.uk

Good luck with your crafting!

Amy

Selbys in Holloway Road has extended its craft  section and Rolls and Rems around the corner on Seven Sisters Road is great for fabrics and has buttons etc.I was at the stall in the indoor market at Shopping City at the  weekend and it is good. There is also a bead stall nearby. Why should I feel brave about this shopping trip though?
I get all my sewing supplies from the haberdashers stall in the wood green indoor Market. The bloke who runs it is really lovely and prices are very reasonable. (I buy alot of sewing stuff for business use so shop there alot).

Sally,

What are you planning to make? Can you show pics of what you've made when you've done them please?

Promise not to steal designs, but it's always good to see what others are making as I do crafts to sell for charity down in Dorset and like some inspiration.

Ta,

Jack

Thanks everyone for your suggestions! I will pop in to those places and have a look!

Jack -

I have so far made my own invites which involved sewing a flower and some gold material onto a card and using some heart stamps with silver paint. I could send a photo of them as they looked good (even if i do say so myself!).

I now would like to make the order of service so i need coloured card and I may use the same heart stamps as for the invites. I am also spray painting dog wood gold to go in the flower arrangement. And I would likewired ribbon to go in the flower arrangements and hang over the vases. I also was thinking about running 3 strips of ribbon along the centre of the table to make a cheap table runner because table runners work out to be expensive.

Not sure how all this DIY is going to look but at least it will save us money! :) Jack I will send photos of the finished products if you like - but I think you sound like much more of an expert than I am! I should probably be asking you for photos :)

Oh and I'm also making my own choc cake for the wedding cake and to double up as desert - I had a practise run on the weekend and the recipe turned out a real treat!! phew!! it was yummy with cream and raspberry coulis :)
