Droll, in a grim sort of way.

The TaxPayers’ Alliance has released astonishing footage of the world’s fastest speaker, Steve Woodmore, reading aloud from the books that contain the UK tax code.

It comes after the TPA released this research showing how the Tolley’s guides for individual taxes have grown over the last decade. Guides for Income Tax, Corporation Tax, Capital Gains Tax, and Inheritance Tax have all sharply increased in length, reflecting excessive tax legislation.

The idea that the tax system is more complicated in the UK than other countries is just ridiculous. I own a small business here and I think the system is very civilized and straightforward. I have also been a taxpayer or dealt with tax offices in Italy, Belgium and the US and I can guarantee that the Taxpayer's Alliance whining that things are so complicated over here is total nonsense, just like much of the rest of what they say...

Nothing personal towards Lydia, of course - sorry don't mean to sound unfriendly. Perhaps the video is even funny. I just hate to read TA nonsense so can't get myself to even watch it.....
