Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

For the last few weeks, a big old black and white cat has been visiting our garden. At first, we thought he was looking for laydee cats; lots of blood-curling yowls at crack of dawn. But he seems to be sleeping rough. And he's not in good nick; fur matted, and a nasty open sore below his left ear.

Anyone missing him? And if no one is missing him, what should we do?

Lets hope someone is missing him and comes for him.  Is he freindly? You seem close enough to him to take the photo so he must be.  If you are able to bathe his sore with water and a bit of salt in it that will help him but it will hurt!!

From experience the RSPCA will take him in BUT!!!!! if he is found to have FIV the cat form of HIV he will be put to sleep.

I'm not sure if they pick up but there is also Wood Green animal Shelter who could take him in and rehome him.

He's not approachable at all, JB. Getting one half-clear shot of him involved biscuits, a low-hanging bush and a zoom lens. Not sure what to do. He's obviously in a bad way, but catching him and getting him to a vet seems impossible. If he is FIV+ it's a worry. Five other cats are fighting a turf war for our garden, including our own moggie and the two next door.
Sounds like a Harringay feral. There are loads around here. Many of the cat charities will trap and neuter them and if the cat is not FIV it'll be released back into your garden.  contact the Mayhew Animal Home http://www.mayhewanimalhome.org/
Could try Celia Hammond- they do a lot of work with ferals

Yes, try Celia Hammond! They'll come get him and look after him, will also find him a new home, and will never put him down, HIV or no HIV.
