Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

OK, big pause for breath here...pause for consideration.....delay whilst the facts are understood.

My understanding at this stage is that Haringey Council will provide a traffic camera scheme to stop rat running in Bounds Green if the residents say they want it. Great. Good, residents shouldn't have to put up with rat running. I'm glad the council sees that. They've proved it with the closure of The Gardens. They proved it by closing Hermitage Road. They proved it again with the Mount Pleasant Road maze.

I'm genuinely pleased for residents in those areas.

But just what is it about the Ladder that time and time again the council refuses to find ways to improve traffic on the Ladder?

Why is it apparently ok for our roads to be rat runs?

Even now when there's £1.2m available for traffic control in our area, there's a refusal to look at controlling rat running.

Please someone, explain!

And....back to pause for consideration.......is there something obvious I'm missing?

I'm with you. I think we're owed an answer. Is it political? Would we get better treatment if we returned three Labour councillors?
The trouble is that the council, and even the residents, see our traffic problems in the context of the nineteen east/west roads on the ladder when in fact the key is Wightman Rd. 19 x £olution = panic.
No the trouble is the focus on the problem and not the solution.
