Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

I had seen this on TV and fancied it and now you can in Wood Green shopping city. They use tiny Garra Rufa fish in fresh water tanks. you can have 15 mins for £8 or 25 mins for £12. the tiny carp nibble the dead skin from your feet - feels like bubbles moving. very relaxing. i think you would need more than one session to really benefit but it was a lovely experience - very indulgent.

According to Suetonius, I believe, one or other of the more decadent Caesars used indulge in similar icthytherapy on Capri, though not for his feet. Pumice from nearby Vesuvius would have been more effective if less stimulating. Good to see that Wood Green decadents can finally benefit from such essential imperial caprices. Because they're worth it, I guess.
If not his feet then where? or shouldn't I ask?
which shop where ?
He is set up between Primark and New Look near the staircase - not a shop. It is in the open where all the passing shoppers can view as you are "done" by the fish - like living TV.
Has it been passed by RSPCA ? Just a thought, because my fish don't like being transported, sometimes the shock kills. Maybe there's a permanent set up which would allay my worries some.
Yes he said he had a permanent pitch there - apparenty these fish do this in wild which is why they use them like this. Although he also said they eat all their own eggs and he has to buy in new stock as they die (at about 2 years of age). I wonder if that is depleting wild stocks or if they breed them for sale specially? Surely the council would check this out before licensing?
I tried this while I was in Malaysia recently. It's an odd, odd experience and not one I would repeat, but it certainly seemed clear that it was the fish who were exploiting me, and not the other way around (see photo). To add insult to injury, the moment a new person put their feet in the tank, they deserted me without so much as a by-your-leave.

Your fish look quite a lot larger than the tiny ones in Wood GReen. they were no more than 2 inches and many were much smaller - perhaps they were babies or different fishes are used? It is an odd feeling - not unpleasant but hard to describe. Worth a try at least
I saw this on Ugly Betty! Fancy it being available in Wood Green, I'm going to have to try it.
The experience is not unlike a cats rasping lick
Tadpoles will also do this, but it's a bit seasonal :-)
