Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Please could someone lend me some tools to break up a small concrete sill in a garden bed.

Ideally:

  • sledgehammer (maybe 10lb)
  • power tools would also be good!

It's about 3 inches thick.

From someone who has learned the hard way, my tip would be to use a crow bar and break it up using natural forces rather than a sledgehammer. Otherwise you might end up with fragments of concrete all through your garden beds and cement dust which isn't ideal for plants.

By natural forces I mean levering something under one part and applying weight to the unsupported end until it cracks.

I have sledgehammer and power breaker. Only problem is I'm a drive away just north of White Hart Lane

Thanks Philip but yes that’s a bit far and I don’t have a car!

Yeah, flip flops really aren't great for breaking up concrete!
