In case people missed it, can I recommend David Goldblatt's talk yesterday about Dutch Total Football in the early 1970s. (The item was on Radio 3 Night Waves - 37 minutes into the programme.

In an interesting companion piece to this, it's just been announced that Award for best use of digital campaigning by a candidate has gone to Lynne Featherstone, Liberal Democrat MP for Hornsey and Wood Green

The judges felt that she has built up a strong social media presence through long-term hard work.

Lynne said:

I don't feel you can be a good elected representative now, in the sense of communication, if you're not accessible online.

I hope our local elected representatives will listen and learn. (And by the way, that means being accessible where the people are - NOT expecting people to come to you!)
