So many trees cut down on Fairfax! Will they ever replace them?

Unfortunately, trees and shrubs have to be maintained and there is a huge associated annual cost for this. With so many London boroughs now strapped for cash is it any wonder that when a tree is cut down it is not replaced (which is also costly).

In reality this appears to be a sign of the times.

How depressing: (

To be fair, several hundred street trees were planted last winter around the borough, e.g. Lordship lane. Gladstone Avenue, Pond Park. Planting trees is "sexy" nowadays, and grants are not so difficult to obtain, but of course it does cost money to do it......
