Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Dear All 

My mother worked at the Barratts sweet factory at the top of Nightingale Road Wood Green - how long were the day shifts?   Was it a bell that signified the end of the shift? Was it at 5pm or 

6pm.   Mon to Fri

i worked at Barratts Sweets in the 60s as a van boy then as a lorry driver the working hours were from 8.oo am to 5.00 pm  I think it was a bell that went off at 8am and 5pm i remember at 8am all of the exhaust fans were turned on and ran to 5pm Barratts was a family business and a great company to work for my dad was also a lorry driver for Barratts we lived in one of their houses at 109 Mayes Road and then 6 Coburg Road fantastic memories.
