Hi Alan, i would be interested in all/any of these books for my collection. i can collect any time. cheers.

Hi James,
So far I've had only a trickle of responses. People interested in just one of the books.

Are there one or two that particularly take your fancy?

Alan

Alain Bertho and Stephen Jay Gould.

Fine!

I'll update you.

James, an update,
How mobile are you? Please see below my reply to Alison P.

Hi Alan, I’d love the China Miéville if it’s still available? Alison

Yep, it's yours.

To save you cycling to Tottenham Hale I can give it to Zena to take to her Councillor Advice "surgery" for you to pick up - if that's convenient.

Zena's at the TCCA - Turkish Cypriot Community Association

Saturday 11 June 11am - 12noon

Alan

That would be great - many thanks.

I know you are trying to reduce your book collection but if you’re interested in the USSR, I wonder if you have read Red Plenty by Francis Spufford? Absolutely brilliant.

Am struggling to add links but lots of reviews if you google it!

Alison. I'd not heard of Francis Spufford. But following your recommendation I've now read the Guardian review by James Meek. (There's a another good writer whose judgement 1 trust. e.g. I think he hit the bullseye on Brexit.)

Zena's the one with stuff about the USSR. (Nothing I'm allowed to recycle.) Not that she has any illusions about the failings there.

Thanks Alan. Will pop down to collect the book on Sat at 11.
