Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

There is a disused garage on Falkland Road opposite Fairlands park – next to my house.  I had someone call at my door asking who owned it today as they want to buy the land and build a 2 bed flat on it.  I have no idea who owns it and would not want anything to be built on that space anyway.

How would I find out who owns it and if it is indeed saleable (and if yes how I stop this)?

Thanks in advance

A 2 bed flat - on there? its TINY!
Yes, you can look up land title documentation via www.landregistry.gov.uk. You need the full postcode to search but purely out of interest (am very bored at work today!) I had a look at the postcode for Falkland Road, and for that section of Wightman Road, and couldn't find a separate title for it, so it must be included in the title of a neighbouring building. If it doesn't belong to you, I would suggest it must belong to the corner house of Wightman Road (is it no. 256?) To download the title documents from the website costs £4 per doc for either the title deed (the description) or the title plan (a plan!). I've been house-hunting on the ladder for my brother and have seen a couple of corner houses where the garage is (like this one) at the bottom of the garden with the entrance in the street to the side.
Thanks Antoinette - v helpful
