Need a Document Certified

Has anyone had a document certified locally, for example by a solicitor?

If so, would you recommend, and how much would it cost?

I haven't had one certified recently but back in the days that I did translation work (up until 7 years ago), I often took copies to solicitors to certify as a true copy of the original or have them witness my signature. It cost me from £5 to £15 depending on the number of documents and where in London the solicitors were located.

I had a hard time finding a solicitor to witness some documents for me during lockdown. I eventually went into that Ersan place opposite the Salisbury. They did it. They charged a premium as its not their core business but if you just need someone to certify a document as a true copy it shouldn't be too steep.
