That was my first thought as well - possibly a victim of the Turkish "mafia" known to be prevalent in area

Yes Katy M, we think we do know what, and who, you were referring to. We have several members of what you call the 'Turkish mafia' here on HOL. Any more allegations?

Whatever you mean OAE, I don't think that's what Katy meant. And I don't think she deserves to be attacked like this either.

These are very serious allegations against innocent folk. Do you really know what you are talking about ? Are you simply repeating what you've heard (in which case you can be forgiven).
Which is it. Turk, Kurd or Cypriot ? or are they all the same thing to us ?
Please don't jump on me. I'm not attacking anyone simply trying to clear up the misunderstanding once and for all. There is a presence of mafia on green lanes but can we please stop using a scattergun approach to identifying their nationality. Either we know or we don't lets not just guess.

I didn't realise that I had just "accused" the whole of the Turkish, Cypriot and Kurdish community with this crime. The word "mafia" that i used was identifying the group of people who I was talking about - and if you read my post correctly you will see that this was something that cropped up in my mind when I read about the incident. Where do I get my information from you ask? Do you mean what makes me think that there are gangs of organised criminals that may or may not be of Turkish, Cypriot or Kurdish decent? Hmm, let me see - here, here, here, here and here for a start. So I am not quite sure as to what those of you who have posted negative comments about my post are getting at; are you saying that they don't exist? Or just that I shouldn't deem to include the nationalities of the people who are reported to be involved in these activities in my reference so as not to possibly insult them? I don't know about you but if someone refers to our beloved "British lager louts" or similar I don't take it as a personal insult - do you? Anyway, if I have offended anyone then of course I am deeply sorry.

Having already told us:

So either you know (because you say they are not Turkish). In which case please put us right and tell us what nationality they are. Or you don't. In which case, what does your first post mean?
