Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Does anyone get hedgehogs in their garden? We don't get any but we do have a hedgehog house to give away

Maybe donate it to Railway Fields, I’m sure they’d be pleased to have it.

This site gives you info on London's hogs including where some have been seen recently in the borough:

I've never seen or heard of hedgehogs in Haringey. I'd love to think there are here somewhere.

There were a few sightings of one/some on the Ladder in the Summer of 2019. There was quite a bit of chat about it on here at the time.

*Just a general point re' hedge-pigs, they need adequate runs between gardens, eg, ways through fences from one garden to the next, to give them enough room to roam. "Gardens which are too perfectly fenced will never see them I'm afraid. Gaps in or under fences are required along a terrace of house for a happy and thriving population. If people could design these in, using ready made hedgehog tunnels (pipes) or similar that would be excellent...... Also plenty of scrub and mess to hide in from household pets.

Spot on. When we moved here, over 30 years ago, most of the back gardens had low fences with lots of gaps, and we used to often hear the hedgehogs grunting in the undergrowth at the bottom of the garden after dark. But the 6' fences put an end to them.
