Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Just recently I've been unable to access any pictures on HoL. When I click on any sort of picture link, I get this error message:-

This site can’t be reached

storage.ning.com took too long to respond.

Is this a problem for other people too?

Well done you!

The first thing is to ensure the tick is showing in the prefs box.

Then go to fifth item along browser bar, 'Develop', and select 'Show Javascript'

Does that help?

Sorry Hugh

screenshot wasn’t visible on my Mac but is now I’ve looked at my phone. I’ve got there now!!!
Now have the photos on my phone but not on my Mac.

Sadly, no. The tick is there but the fifth item along my browser bar is Search. My Mac is about 12 years old - could this be why? The sixth item is Security and Show Javascript is ticked there??? Thank you for trying to help.

Lydia,

You are still in the Safari Preferences box. If you have ticked "Show Develop menu in the menu bar" then you can come out of the Preferences box. The Develop menu should appear in the Safari menu bar at the top of the screen. Click on that and select "Show Javascript Console".

So what Hugh was wanting is to know what you see when you try to view a photo. Try opening the signalcrayfishphoto.jpg on the first page. I got a message stating that "Safari Can't Open the Page" plus the reason. On the same page where you get that message press Option, Command and C Or click on "Show Javascript Console" from the Safari menu bar Develop menu. The screen which appears below has a menu bar and you should click on console on tdhe right. In my case it produced a blank screen - but that might be important who knows.

Okay. Thank you for your patience and time taken to give me these instructions. I’ve just ‘shut down’ for the day but I promise I will follow this tomorrow and let Hugh know what I see. Thank you again - such kind, caring people in Haringey - I no longer live here but still consider it my home.

Me too.

Thanks for flagging this up.

Can you tell me which image/s this affects?

Yesterday, I started having the issue of not being able to add pictures, but on Safari desktop only. Safari mobile and Chrome desktop still work. The issue was that when I clicked on the Choose File button, nothing happened. (It should launch your file manager so you can choose a file).

I made a screen video of the issue for the platform host (Ning) and also took some screenshots of the console for them.

To send the video to Ning, I used WeTransfer. In trying to upload the file there, I noticed the same problem with their add file button ('+'). So, again, I had ot use Chrome.

if you've had an issue uploading pictures, would you mind seeing if you also have an issue on WeTransfer, please - https://wetransfer.com

This reply from WeTransfer:

Hi there,

Thanks for reaching out to us. My name is Shanelle and I'm happy to help you out with this.

There seems to be an issue effecting those operating Mojave and using Safari - our engineers are currently looking into this. So, we're on the case and will be sure to have this fixed.

Are you currently operating Mojave?

In the meantime, can you try dragging and dropping the files into the transfer window to see if this allows you to upload. All you need to do is select the file you want to upload, and drag and drop it into the transfer window.

For more context regarding this issue you can check out this article ---> [here](https://wetransfer.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360052716091).

Please feel free to contact me if you have any additional questions or suggestions.

Thanks for your understanding,

Shanelle from WeTransfer.

I can now view pictures and the web site seems to be back to normal.  Also I can now see the tool bar when posting messages, this had disappeared.  Let's hope that the issue doesn't re-occur.

All good here now - and also on Bowes and Bounds connected, another Ning site which I had the same problem with. I can now see all images on both sites.

Thanks Hugh
